2024-01-18

COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) is committed to educating and supporting editors, publishers, universities, research institutes, and all those involved in publication ethics. COPE aims to move the culture of publishing towards one where ethical practices become a normal part of the culture itself. The COPE approach is firmly in the direction of influencing through education, resources and support of the members, alongside the fostering of professional debate in the wider community.

After an observation phase of around one and a half years, “Raumforschung und Raumordnung | Spatial Research and Planning” (RuR) has now been accepted as a member of COPE.

In recent years, RuR, with the support of the publishing house oekom, has increased its efforts to align the review, editing and publication processes with high ethical standards. This guarantees authors and reviewers a transparent and quality-oriented process and minimizes the possibility of scientific misconduct. The journal's inclusion in COPE strengthens and encourages RuR in these efforts and motivates it to continue along this path.
