Co-operative planning of settlements and open spaces in the ‘Regio Unterweser’ A new approach to cross-border co-operation in the area Bremen Lower Saxony Authors Ralph Baumheier Senator für Bau und Umwelt, Freie Hansestadt Bremen, Hanseatenhof 5, 28195, Bremen DOI: https://doi.org/10.1007/BF03183799 Keywords: Article Abstract In implementing the Regional Development Strategy which forms part of the joint planning conducted by the Länder Lower Saxony and Bremen, one current focus of attention is the development of a platform for joint spatial planning in the hinterlands of the higher-order centres cities of Bremen, Bremerhaven and Oldenburg. In addition to instituting co-operation around Oldenburg, a co-operative planning process at local-authority level has also been introduced in the region immediately around Bremen-Nord — known as the Regio Unterweser. The development of this initiative and the conclusions to be drawn from it form the subject of this article. Downloads Download data is not yet available.
