Abstract

The article reports on a completed study concerning the future requirements of funds in the joint promotion of urban development of the federation and the federal states. It centres around a representative sruvey of investment requirements in different areas of urban development measures in East and West German cities, which was examined afterwards from an macro-economic perspective. According to the study the investment and promotion requirement of urban development remains high and will amount to an estimated 64 billion euro until 2013 (public and private investments).
